12 Joshua then said to the Reubenites and the Gadites and to half of the tribe of Manasseh,[a] 13 “Remem-ber what Moses, the servant of the Lord, commanded you, saying, ‘The Lord, your God, has given you a place of rest,[b] he is giving you this land.’ 14 Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock are to remain on the land that Moses gave you on the far side of the Jordan, but all of your brave warriors will pass over armed, marching before your brethren to help them.
